5 Things to Know Before Renting a Rolloff

Rolloff containers can be used for various projects such as demolition jobs, teardown, brush cleanup, renovations, scrap metal recycling, and even as a trash service for large events (like our local Pirates & Wenches weekend in Rock Hall!)

1. Plan Ahead

Although we have on occasion had to send out a rolloff quickly, we highly recommend planning ahead your rolloff rental! We recommend calling five (5) business days in advance before your project begins for the best turn-around time and delivery options!

2. Know Length of Time Needed

How long will your project be? Our typical rolloff container rental period is fourteen (14) days, but you can extend for longer for an additional daily rate.

3. Know that not everything can be thrown away into a rolloff

There are certain items that cannot be put into our rolloff as they require special disposal due to potential environmental harm:

  • Paints
  • Fuels
  • Acids
  • Tires
  • Batteries

4. Confirm rolloff is safe for its drop-off location

The driver who delivers your rolloff container will take your direction on where to place the container, so we recommend scoping out the area before ordering! However, we will make recommendations when necessary to make a safe delivery enviroment.

Make sure where you intend to put the rolloff is easy access to be unloaded and also can handle the weight limit. Do you have a small area? We have rolloff sizes that fit into smaller driveway areas! You can see our container sizes here.

You’ll also want to take into consideration if the location will cause future issues for you if the job requiring the rolloff container is extended.

5. Choose the size of your container wisely!

It’s important to understand that trying to fit all of your trash into a rolloff that is too small for the amount can be more costly in the long run! Our rule of thumb is to overestimate versus underestimate your amount — if you have no idea what you truly need, our customer service associates can assist you in making the right decision in size!

Overfilling a too-small container won’t work either because the driver can’t haul it away if there’s junk spilling out over the top. You may also need to consider the weight limit of a rolloff depending on the job; for instance, we do not rent anything larger than a 20-yard container for brick, concrete, or soil projects due to the weight.
